Your kids will love it, adults may notice some flaws.
I purchased this toy for my neice. She loves remote control stuff. I needed a car on the 27mhz frequency. I previously purchased a different car that was on that frequency that just didn't work well. I'm happy to say that this one worked pretty well. I didn't need to be right on top of it for the control to work. However, I did have some issues:- The antenna on the remote is just a piece of dangling wire. I wonder how long it will take before it's ripped out. Other cars I have give the remotes sturdy yet flexible metal antennas wrapped in soft plastic.- The remote uses a 9v battery! What a pain it was finding one in the house. I wish toy companies would just stick to AAA, AA and D batteries which I always seem to have around.- The screw you have to unscrew top open the battery compartment on the toy was TOUGH to open. First, the hole is too small for a standard sized screw driver and too deep for some of the smaller sized screw drivers I had. When I finally found one that went all the way down to the screw (just barely) the screw just wouldn't turn. I had to put a LOT of pressure to get it to turn, but it eventually did. Honestly, I was worried I would strip the screw and then I'd be.... well, screwed.- not sure if it's just me, but there is a little bit of a lag from when you hit the buttons on the control to when the car actually moves. Mind you I did not have fresh 9v batteries (I took one from a smoke detector) which may have accounted for that issue, but it annoyed me.All of the above being said, none of that affected my neice, who loved the look, speed and overall fun of playing with the car. From a kids standpoint, this is a 4-5 star product. From my view, I'll give it a strong 3-3.5. I think I may purchase the 49mhz version in the future to see how it works. That frequency seems to work best in my house.

My 3 year old loved this lobster RC vehicle amphibian
My 3 year old loved this lobster RC vehicle amphibian. Colorful, easy for him to understand the remote control and he caught on to it fast! The only thing that kept him frustrated was he could not stay up with his brothers new truck he got for his 6th birthday. The wheels were plastic and could not go on grass or climb well. This little remote control needs to be used on concrete smooth surfaces. The price is great for 3 yr old ages as they do drop them often. They get so excited running it and racing after it.It does go a long distance away from the remote though. I was impressed. He ran it in puddles only, never in large amounts of water as I don't think it is made for going across deep water.Oh, the Antenna on the RC was reinforced by grandpa by glueing it for 24 hours before letting our grandson use it. Thank goodness as this is the first thing they grab onto. With soft reminders we were able to get him to hold onto the car and not to the antenna. He learns fast but itwas also great to have the wire antenna glued.

My son loves this car.
My 7 year old loves this car. It takes a beating and keeps on going. Caution: My son went to cut it out of the box and almost clipped the antennas because they look like white twist ties. I would give it 5 stars but you have to be sure to manually turn the car off when done or the batteries will just burn out. I wish there was an auto-off feature after not being used for 5 minutes or more.

REMOTE ONLY WORKED FOR LESS THAN 1 MINUTE! THEN STUCK AND WOULD NOT CONTROL THE CAR. WE OPENED TO CHECK THEBATTERIES AND FOUND RUST AROUND THE CONTROL ARM CAUSING IT TO STICK IN PLACE. COULDN'T GET CONTROL ARM TO UNFREEZE. ASKING FOR A NEW REMOTE

My four year old (and all his siblings) love his lobster car
My four year old (and all his siblings) love his lobster car. The only problem we have had is that it goes through batteries insanely fast- even the really good ones made especially for electronics. Other than that we have had no issues.

We have a lot of fun tormenting the dogs with these cars
We have a lot of fun tormenting the dogs with these cars. The downside is short battery life, so be prepared to buy rechargeable ones or spend a fortune to play with these.

Good for a little kid
Good for a little kid. Slow but easy to work. Floats (sort of) and moves through the water (kinda). Better than prior versions where the on/off switch would pop off all the time.

SO MUCH FUN!
Got this for my grandkids at our annual camping trip - they had a blast with it and even had it in and around the river - was amphibious as described and goes pretty fast. The remote was easy to use for my five year old too. What a great value for the money!
