Small quantity.
I chose Zumwax over Swix because it was ten bucks cheaper. Stupid me, The Swix is 180 grams of wax as this is only 6 grams. I'm sure this is quality stuff, but I'm only going four stars because of the quantity.

Helped a 7th grader keep up with a friend
My son skis on the local middle school Nordic team. This is his first school team sport. He has played travel soccer for three years, but has no background in aerobic sports, nor does he have an aerobic base. He does know how to skate ski, though, having participated in the local Bill Koch ski league for a couple of years. However, he never raced. So, he and his best friend headed into the second race of the season. His friend is an aerobic beast and finished first for our school in the first race. Temperature at race time was 45 degrees. The surface snow was soft, but it was over an ice base. During warmups his friend asked him if he was trying to go fast because the friend had a hard time keeping up. According to the friend's parents his skis haven't been waxed in a month since the varsity team waxed all the middle schoolers' skis. I believe they used middle temperature wax at that time. Both boys have new skis this season.Well, the best friend was again first for our school, but my son was only 3 seconds behind, versus over a minute behind in the previous race. The race was a 3K race.I know my son does not have the aerobic capacity (yet) to keep up with his friend. I think this wax helped my son focus on learning how to ski fast in a race situation, rather than worry about skis that were bogging down in slushy snow. Theoretically the wax would only give about a 10-15 second advantage over this distance, but keeping up with your friend is a huge incentive for a 7th grader. This wax is very economical for a high flouro Nordic wax. It went on smoothly, and the tip from the web site to use fiberlene when ironing it in really resulted in a smooth application. My only concern is that I have read where some high flouro waxes dry out/increase oxidation of the bases of skis. I haven't seen any evidence of this yet, but I will update this review at the end of the season if there are any problems. So far, so good. And, yes, I am going to wax the friend's skis for the next race.

Try this wax out!
This wax was amazing! Raced my first 50k on this wax and was gliding as good or better than anyone else who I'm sure used more expensive waxes. This stuff does the trick and was easy to work with. Try it!
