The Mocha (The Puppy Place)

My 8 y/o daughter LOVES Puppy Place chapter books. Even her older sister "borrows" these books when nobody's looking to read them. Both girls can read at a much higher level but they love these books for their fun story lines and cute puppy characters. They are an easy read and they can zip through these books in no time. When we don't buy them here, they snap them up from the library by the dozens and plow through them. They love that puppy characters from other/earlier books are used in newer books, which rewards their loyalty to the series. Each book involves children finding a "furever" home for a rescued or lost puppy -- which is a story line all of us can get behind. I have to admit that I had never read one myself until Mocha, which we read aloud at bedtime each night over Christmas break (when we had the time!). It was a good story and I can see why the girls go back to Puppy Place books time and time again.

Cute books for my beginning reader granddaughter. She’s in second grade and also have given them to my third grade granddaughter. Would buy again

Ellen Miles keeps producing wonderful books in the "Puppy Place" Series. We have read every one of them and never get tired of them. Each one has a great lesson on responsible animal ownership that helps teach kids about the problem of animal overpopulation, use of animals in cicuses, and of course their need to be a part of a family. Read them somewhat in order if you can; they may make more sense that way, but read them some way!! The author is so nice. I e-mailed her and got the automatic reply that she can't respond to all of the e-mails she receives, but she personally sent me one! My boys (7 & 9) love this series. They learn to love to read with books like these, although at this point I read to them. Enjoy.

Makenzie 4th grader: I’d recommend this to readers in 3rd-5th grade. I liked the part when they finally found the mystery man and learned all about him. I gave it 4 stars because a couple of chapters weren’t that interesting.

My 7 year old loves these books. We are currently reading our 23rd. Although who will eventually adopt each of the puppies is usually predictable, we have fun guessing as soon as we can. Bella is a little different since her mother (who is sick) and her mother's owner are still in the picture. This book talks about how anyone can be a mother after the kid's male puppy (older) helps to mother the new tiny puppy. This is a lesson to the new neighbor who decides she wants the puppy (but remember, there is still an owner in the picture) and then decides she also wants to adopt a baby from China. Since both of my girls are adopted from China, this was a fun surprise.

My grandchildren loves this series.

This is a great series of books for my dog loving daughter. I believe she has read them all. We discovered them when she was in First Grade. She is now in Fourth Grade and still loves them. She is an avid reader and these books are now an easy read for her, but they do go far to fuel her love of reading! Ordered from Amazon, so of course the delivery was speedy.

My kids loves PUPPY PLACE books. Those books made my daughter (9) love to read. My son (8) enjoys them too. However, my husband don't like to read those books to kids.We have a lot of printed also. I got Kindle Edition for Kindle Fire, so we can use "word wise" option on it.
