Other cheaper options are better.
I've bought a few different brands of traps to try and eradicate my issue quicker. This has been the least successful trap in our eyes and not the strongest snap down.

Not that effective
Not sure why but we were not able to catch any mice with these even with other baits. Bought some different ones that worked a lot better. I'm guessing they were too little to catch the mice or would trigger too easily

Worked well, but only after some adjustment
These traps are easy to set, and easy to bait with peanut butter. I tried them with the provided bait but without any success, and would recommend taking out the bait provided and replacing with some crunchy peanut butter, which in my experience the mice are much more attracted by.However, after 2 nights of leaving the traps set next to the walls where the mice were, all that resulted was the bait being cleaned out completely, and the traps didn't trigger as they are just not sensitive enough. To rectify this, I put a small piece of cardboard underneath the back of the trap platform, and the result was that the next night, 3 mice had been efficiently despatched. So, they work, but only if you are happy to adjust the sensitivity and change the bait. I still think the older design quick easy set traps from The Big Cheese were superior to these.

The Big Cheese Fresh Baited Mouse Trap (Traditional Baited Rodent Pest Trap, Powerful Spring
The Big Cheese Fresh Baited Mouse Trap (Traditional Baited Rodent Pest Trap, Powerful Spring. The original product did not have a bait tray and was far simpler to bait , clean and use. I have given four rather than three stars because it is well made.

Too light in weight
I had used another wax cubed bait once and that had proved to be a nightmare. It had done its job but it a dead mice in a place I could not reach and had to deal with the stink for two weeks! Never again, so thought this would be a better option. The product is well made, has a strong spring tension, I am sure if it catches a door mouse, the rodent will not move from it's place. But this trap is too light, so light that a size larger than a door mouse might run away with it if its tail or a leg gets trapped. It did not trap the door mouse who visits the under-stairs regularly. It came and ate every bit of the bait twice. Even with different spring tensions the weight of the door mouse could not move the lever.

They do work
Ok so this is my honest opinion of these traps . There is a design fault without doubt .the problem is the platform and bar if you just set it is pull back set bar you will catch nothing at all as it will not set of the kill bar. You need to set as normal then keep finger on kill bar and gentle tap the yellow platform so it is just about holding .also my bait was Jamaican ginger cake. After 3 days of catching nothing and them just taking the bait I then did the above instructions and with in 30 mins of setting them bam got one

Unpredictable
I did use 3 traps. One caught the mice. Other 2 had their cheese completely licked but did not trap mouse. Appears to work alright but not catching any more. Tried chocolate which disappears by morning but none caught. Maybe mice are getting cleverer.

One was unuseable
One just wouldn't stay locked open even when no bait used
