Mountaintop Motel Massacre (Midnight Madness Series)

I had never seen nor heard of this film until the blu ray popped up for pre order on blu ray dot com... the name interested me and after doing some quick research I decided to pull the trigger. I’m a huge fan of 80s horror movies, in particular ones that take place at camp grounds and/or the woods... I guess you could say I collect them. Anyways, this movies acting is definitely cheese but that’s what makes it so enjoyable. It definitely has that 80s horror vibe I was looking for. The location/atmosphere of the individual cabins/motel rooms is what makes this one unique compared to similar movies of the time. As for the high def transfer... I never saw this flick on vhs or dvd so I can’t really comment on how much better the visuals are now... but it is pretty dang clear for a movie this old (1983). Worth checking out if you’re a fan of 80s slashers.

Unassuming low-budget slashers from the 80s are kinda my jam, which makes it funny that I haven't seen this one before today. Atmospheric low-key horror

I really like this movie.. I would recommend watching it.

One of the greatest ultra cheapo flicks of the 80s. The cockroach bit is particularly cute, as is the drunken preacher. Not for people who take themselves too seriously.

This is one of my favorite B horror movies. No it's not really that great but it's fun to watch. And I love the ideas of the individual cabins.

This was a big movie way back when but if you are a fan of extreme blood and gore, this movie is tame compared to some movies of today.

Not your usual horror film, but its good.

Film is presented in really nice quality here. Its not your average 80s slasher and your casual horror fan might not appreciate it as the budget is low and the acting is ropey at times but it all adds to the uncomfortable feel of the film. The underground set looks great and the theme, which definitely should have been utilised more in the film is creepy.

Once again the folks at 88 films delivers a cult classic to Bluray with a beautiful transfer and bright color. A+ for another job well done.
