Not Suitable For The UK
I bought this last year. The pump leaked, the company was good at replacing it, but the replacement leaked so I had to get a third pump. The piping is not long enough unless you lay the mats on the ground next to the pool. The joints on the main pipes are very temperamental, it is very easy to catch the "o" ring and any rotation force, say when moving the mats, can cause the joint to leak. The solar cell does not come with any support so you have to make your own support to get the optimum angle. There is also no switch to isolate the solar cell if maintenance of the pump is needed. There is no housing for the pump so you have to make that too. The replacement pump would not start automatically when the sun came out although the original did. I had to toggle my on off switch to get it to start. I installed the mats on the roof of my shed. The pump is strong enough to circulate to that height and when the sun came out I had a flow rate of 8s per litre and a maximum temperature increase of 10C. I had direct sunlight on the mat from 1pm to 7pm in June/July. My pool is 12ft in diameter and 5ft deep and holds 13,500Ltrs of water. This means it would take 5 days of continuous sunlight to raise the water temperature by 10C. Given the tap water is about 17C at that time of year it would take a week to warm the pool to an acceptable temperature. However, the heat loss in the evening, the very limited full sunshine in the UK and the ambient temperature meant that the pool never really warmed significantly last year and at best the system kept the pool temperature steady when it was sunny. I reckon, for the UK you would need a minimum of 12 mats to heat my pool in a position where the mats were in full sun all day long. Based on the cost you'd be better off topping the pool up from your home heating system. One unexpected benefit of the system was it kept my she nice and cool. I'm going to give it another go this year, I broke the third pump disassembling the system last year, the outflow pipe is very fragile. Sourcing a new pump has proven very hard but I have found a similar one. I just hope it is more sunny this year.

Simple pool heater
Bought this to heat our 8ft pool. Hung panels on fence alongside solar pane, where it gets morning sun. Heats our pool about 2degrees per day. Needed advice with install and found customer services knowledgable and helpful.
