I’ve tried a few different sun protection long sleeve with hood shirts and this one has proved to be best. Perhaps it’s not the absolute best, but I didn’t want to spend a ton of money. This shirt will be worn nearly everyday as I live in Florida and fish the canal in my backyard literally almost 24/7. It’s not even Florida hot yet and I’ve got sunburn on my neck and shoulders as well as my legs and the top of my feet. Last year even with 50spf lotion on, I got badly burned as did my fishing friend. I have a 9’ umbrella I open up as long as the wind is less than 10mph for shade in the daytime. It covers me from just after dawn until about 3pm when the sun is in front of me. Anyone familiar with hot sun directly blasting you BUT as those who spend lots of time on the water in such hot weather knows we get hit with TWICE the direct sunlight because of the reflection off the water coming up at us. I took a thermometer with me one time last year and attached it to my shirt. It got up 136 DEGREES several times hitting my body from June through September. All other summer days were at least 100 degrees and above from about 2pm until about an hour before sundown. I took the time to explain why I wanted such a shirt and how important it is in the conditions here. Too many people only a few years older than I am are dealing with all types of melanoma and other forms of skin cancer and eye damage from being in this level of direct sunlight even part time. This is why I took the time to explain why I made the purchase and why this shirt is the one I feel is best on all aspects of comfort, moisture control, quick drying, anti microbial inner fabric, super lightweight and comes with a nice hood. I hope this review has given some food for thought about the damage sun can do to unprotected skin.

My order arrived when promised, and the Fishing Hoodie seems well made. The description of the product on the Amazon website is very accurate. I ordered XL, and the fit was as I expected. The only very slight negative is that the hood seems to be a little larger than expected. However, since I purchased it to keep the sun off, I am completely satisfied. If I encounter any issues after use, I will update my comments; although, I am not expecting any problems given the apparent fit and finish of the shirt. I have already ordered another product from this vendor.

As others have mentioned go with a size smaller. Purchased a medium initially and found the small fit a lot better for a medium wearer. Return of the medium was easy and I was very happy with the small. Purchased the shirt for added sum protection on an offshore trip. It was very comfortable even without an undershirt and did it’s job limiting me to sun exposure. Even with the heavy activity of vertical jigging I don’t get too hot. Great shirt and I will likely buy more Koofin products in the future.

I like the color and that the sleeves are really long like I like. On the Large I ordered the sleeves came to my wrists and had about an extra inch bunched up. They come to the middle of my hand if I just let them hang. I like that. I don’t like that the hood is super large and pretty much useless. In any wind the wind blows it off my head. You have to hold it on. I don’t like that the inside of the hood is white instead of yellow like the rest of the shirt. I already purchased a shirt like this then saw the hooded shirt and bought it. But like I said the hoods pretty useless for my situations.

I bought this for two fishing enthusiasts in my family for their birthdays. One is a young man and one older. They both love this shirt. Not only does it have the upf protection but it Doesn’t make you feel too hot which is one thing I was worried about. Fits true to size with stretchableLightweight material. Loose fittingHood. Doesn’t seem to bother them although I see it bothered a few reviewers. Nice looking sporty shirt too. Fantastic gift for them both

Nice (graphic) design. Good fit. Comfortable material. Only complaint is that the hood (which is kind of the point of a hoody shirt) is WAY too big. I have a fairly large melon and still if I pull it up it is far too loose and long and flops around over my eyes. I haven't fished in it in any real wind yet but can't imagine it would stay up. The inside of it is bright white, not the actual shirt color, so folding it back would just look goofy. When down, if you move around or bend over, the hood slides around to one side or the other, especially being that it is light slippery material. And when you stand up again it's off to one side and exposes the white inner layer in a weird way that makes you need to re-adjust it all the time. Stars off for that for sure. If you're making a hoody, I would think getting the hood right would be a priority. Not here. Disappointing for name brand like Koofin. I suppose you could wear a hat to pin it down and hold it in place, but then...why bother with a hood? I'm probably going to keep it as a sun shirt. But I wouldn't order another. Look elsewhere if you actually plan to use it for fishing.

I love this hoodie. I bought one for myself and my dad. I’m 5’11” and 200 lbs - a thick athletic build, and the fit is perfect. It keeps me cool on sunny days and protects my skin. The hood is kinda big like some other reviews say but I actually like it.
