If you are wanting to use this for a plug in, I got you. I am a mom in my 30s who did this alone while my kiddo was napping. If I can do this without help, so can you. I followed all the other crazy reviews on here and ended up rewiring the first light only to realize there was absolutely no reason to. To make your life easier, here are the instructions for the plug in:Step 1: throw the instructions away. They are garbage unless you are planning on hardwiring at some point in the future (I am so I kept one copy).Step 2: take the bracket off the back of the fixture. Everything I’m pointing to in the last photo is extra (it’s used for hardwiring).Step 3: pre-drill and install the anchors. Use the bracket and take the two machine screws (the flat tips) that were holding it on to the fixture (I took off the nuts) and put them away from the wall and use the washers to screw the bracket into the anchors (see third picture).Step 4: Attach the front of the light fixture to the wall with the little silver thingies (that’s a technical term - look it up if you don’t believe me).The rest is pretty self explanatory.It doesn’t come with bulbs.I love the look.You’re welcome.

This is a BEAUTIFUL sconce lamp! I really really love it, however I'm only giving it 4 stars because the instructions SUCK. It took my husband 2 hours to wire and put up two of these lamps. The instructions only have instructions for the wall wire hook ups. Not for the lamp hook ups. If they did have the lamp hook ups and we are just dumb at reading instructions then they need to do a better job at separating the instructions for both from each other but I''m 99% positive the instructions didn't have the lamp hook up instructions. We had zero clue how to wire them and I was worried that we could only use them in the wall hook ups. We did figure it out that these CAN be used as lamps not just through a wall socket. Other than the instructions sucking, it really is a beautiful product and I would buy again and will recommend but will warn about the instructions. If you have someone in your family who understands electricity they would be good to call and ask for help. That's what we did lol.

Great, affordable sconce. I searched high and low for something like this! The quality is excellent and you really can’t beat the price. Especially since it’s designed to be a hardwire sconce, but comes with everything you need to convert it to a plug in. It’s a one size fits all situation. As renters we opted for the plug in version, but when we eventually move into a place of our own we can easily swap these back into a hardwire.Yes, as other reviewers stated, the instructions are worthless. But considering the wiring is clearly labeled, the rest isn’t much of a gamble to piece together. Just requires some patience and a Google search or two- a comparable trade off for the cash you save. I also just put a basic 60 watt bulb in as Edison bulbs can get pricey and we didn’t have any on hand. I don’t think it takes away from the aesthetic at all.We used these as bed-side lamps and even my husband is a fan. I think they are just the right size to complement a headboard and serve as a side table lamp. They might be too small if placed elsewhere.

I was a little nervous about purchasing this item - especially as it was to replace another fixture that I had to return. Some of the reviews mention extra mouse holes in the canopy, some mention that the cord and switch do not come pre-installed, others complained about difficulty installing. These were the exception, so, with some reservations, I purchased the fixture. I do not contest the experience of other reviewers, but I can tell you that my fixture did not have additional mouse holes, that the cord and switch came pre-installed and that this was one of the easiest fixtures that I have ever installed (or mounted). This is a very nice product, and I like the fact that it has two switches, one at the fixture and one at the end of the cord. I don't use the latter, because of the placement of the fixture but I certainly use the former. Well work the money, easy to install.

I wish I could give this light a good review, but I can't. The only good thing I can say is that it is a beautiful light and well made. However, I can't use it because there were absolutely NO instructions on the wiring. I was not hardwiring it as I simply wanted to plug it in. I had an electrician look at it and he couldn't help me and said it looked like the wiring was made for Europe and that it lacked a piece for mounting. I noticed the wiring was extremely thin and consisted of 3 wires vs 2 wires on other wall sconces that I have installed. I'm very disappointed and will be returning it.

As other reviewers have stated, the directions are incredibly confusing. My husband is very good at putting things together and he was pretty stumped by this. We were trying to mount them to our wall and use the plug in feature without wiring the electrical. He had to bunch the cords together and hide them underneath the backing plate and then he was able to mount it to the wall without any issues. The seller should definitely listen to these reviews and make some adjustments to their very confusing directions. Aside from the poor instructions,, these lights are beautiful and good quality. We used an Edison Bulb and it gives off a good amount of light and looks really great. They are fairly small so I would make sure to take that into consideration with your placement. We put one on each side of a painting we hung in our music studio and it looks really nice

I can’t believe you have to hardwire this yourself and convert it into a plug-in! If I had known, I would’ve never purchased this! Why can’t they come assembled like all other plug-in’s?! The instructions only talk about how to mount onto the wall but nothing about wiring it.In conclusion, if it came already wired and ready to plug into an outlet, I would’ve given it 5-stars. It is a good looking lamp after all.
