Connected this to a blue tooth receiver. Phone Bluetooth > receiver in lighter > cable into adapter into headunit.

This is not for every auto radio.
I am sure this item is fine, but it just did not work in my case. I was hoping that I could play my i-pod in my car by using this cable to connect it but it did not work.
