It's a BEAST!
This thing is a beast. I bought mine to go on my 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. I have a lot of custom mods, including a custom fabricated stubby bumper. After trying to mount it with some help from a tech that belongs to my Jeep club we realized we would need some specialized help mounting this.I would say that mounting it on top of a bumper would require little effort, however if you're mounting in a recessed location inside a stubby bumper there are some logistical issues that can require some additional modifications.First, the vacuum pump will need to be relocated to the engine bay to accommodate the winch. Even with this relocation, you will likely need to trim a little metal from the bumper mounting brackets. Lastly, depending on the depth of the winch mounting plate, you may need to fabricate a custom extension in order to orient the winch properly. That said, now that all the mods have been done, this winch is awesome. The reason I bought it was after my rugged ridge 8,000 lbs winch failed me in the trail. Most winches have a port on the winch to connect a wired remote for operation. Problem was the plug that seals the port came loose while I was getting stuck in a 4ft deep mud pit. The inside of the port became filled with mud and despite trying to clear it of debris, I wasn't able to get the remote to connect to operate the rugged ridge winch. The majority of winches on the market have this weakness - even mile marker winches which are arguably equivalent to Warn in reliability and known to be fully submersible, like this warn winch. While the very high price of the Warn can be a drawback for some, if you are going to be using your winch on a regular basis or spend a significant amount of time off road, the additional investment is well worth it.Another great benefit is the tow speed. Prior to my old winch failing, my Jeep was generally the goto vehicle in my jeep club for pulling people out due to increased weight and stability of the Unlimited configuration. When you're doing a lot of winching, it definitely helps to have the increased speed and power of this winch. The last consideration for me were the pros and cons of cable vs synth. My previous rugged ridge winch used synth line. While the safety factor of synth was appealing to me when I was starting out, the inconvenience of the rope binding on the drum due to expansion and contraction of the line width under tension was an annoying hassle.Taking care with a cable line using a winch dampener will mitigate the danger of a break under tension. Make no mistake, this is a very real danger. One of our Jeep club members experienced this first hand when a broken toe hook flew through his radiator. Never winch without a dampener! Once that is out of the way, there's no way I can see this winch failing unless you have a head on impact and destroy it.In short, the Zeon Platinum 12 lives up to the awesome reputation of Warn. If you want a winch for more than appearance sake, this is THE one. There simply is no better.

Big Heavy Duty 12s Winch
I installed it myself the only issue that I ran across was getting the rope threaded into the drum and the wedge installed. I ended up getting it stuck and took the Jeep to a local 4-wheel shop to fix the rope and get it secured properly. I haven't had a use for it since it was installed. With this unit on the Jeep, you need to install everything onto the bumper first, then install the bumper after lifting it in place. It's a big heavy winch & leaves little room to remove the grill. Overall, I'm happy with it, looks great, works, can't really ask for more.

The winch works great, very stout.
The winch looks very good in the Warn bumper. So far I have only used it a few times and it worked great. The one very big disappointments has been that the battery in the remote only holds a charge for about 2 weeks. Warn sent me a new controller but it is the same. So each time I needed it the battery was dead so I had to charge the controller for at least 30 minutes or use it with the charge cord plugged into a USB in the jeep. I paid a lot of money for the cordless remote of the platinum series winch, so I am quite disappointed in the lameness of the battery. My 100 dollar Phillips electric shaver that I use every day last about 5 to 6 weeks on one charge. I know Warn can do better than that.John Adams

Cosmetic rust on faceplate and bolts
I bought this wench about 6 months. After one winter in Seattle the bolts and faceplates have some ugly cosmetic rust. I would expect more from a 'platinum' grade product.
