Great for measuring holes.

Purchased for use in a manufacturing environment. Perfect for us to verify orifice ID's to check for wear. Compact and easy to store in a tool box and not take up a lot of room like the round orifice gauges.

Product is not nearly as refined as pictured. The only darkening of the graduations is from the metal removal process itself. Therefore the markings are a very light rust color, not black so the contrast is not nearly as good as pictured. All of the graduations are of the same low contrast, the engraving process causes the metal surrounding each marking to also be burned (a splatter of sorts) which blurs the distinction between the engraved mark and the base metal. The gauge can only be read at the best possible lighting angle. If your application doesn't allow for significant flexibility to move the part, your viewing angle or the lighting angle it will be a struggle to get a repeatable measurement. I give it one star for false representation, the manufacturer simply didn't finish the job to provide the contrast to the product that is shown in the images.

I use this to check the bench rest and tongue guard on an abrasive wheel grinder for OSHA compliance. This works perfectly and a value.

This doesn't measure subdivisions of mm, each mark from 1 to 15 is actually separated by 5 mm, so the most precise measure you can get is to the mm, which is obviously way less precise than advertised.
