Gold Tone MBTR MicroBass Removable Thumb Rest

I was about to invent something like this out of necessity when I discovered this item. It fit on my Kala U-bass perfectly. It's tight without scratching the wood and does not move at all. It looks like it could be a stock piece. Simple, well designed and does the job.

Haven't had it very long bit it seems to fit tight and does what it's supposed to do.

Works like a charm! I slid mine up the sound hole towards the neck a bit...Perfect! The side that’s on the outside of your bass is padded so no scuff marks on the finish. Holds great.

This thumb rest works great. It’s really stable on the bass and you can lean on it pretty good without any movement. I haven’t looked to see what it’s doing to surface of the body. The only hitch is that since it mounts in the sound hole, I can’t use the feedback freezer. But feedback has not been an issue so far.

Very nice, note that the color is black. The clip part is made of sturdy metal and despite what I expected, it stays VERY well. It is a little higher than I would like, however I just slide it a little down and it works fine. I would say that it is a little pricy to judge, but I’ll let you decide if it’s worth the extra money so you don’t need to drill any holes.

The item arrived, quality seemed fine, pretty much as expected - except that the clip is perpendicular to the rest. My impression from the image is that the clip is parallel to the rest. There's really only one location this can be mounted so that it is parallel to the strings (top of sound hole). IN this spot it is too far from the strings (used to working from my pickups on an electric) and found myself trying to pluck air when aiming for the top string after it was installed. It does seem to stay in place well - just not where I want it.Rather then take the return shipping hit, I'm going to try to reposition the clip, but would not buy again or recommend.

Allegedly designed for instrument like the U-bass (a bass ukulele), but I'm using it on a Dean EABC acoustic/electric bass, which is about a far as you can get on the opposite end of the size spectrum for a guitar-oid instrument. While I wish the bar was a little longer, to provide a wider range of playing positions on that big instrument, it nonetheless otherwise fulfills its intended purpose well. Installation was easy, and the fit is solid and tight -- this baby does NOT move around, even during pretty vigorous playing.If you have an acoustic bass guitar and are tired of resting your thumb on your bottom string, this is the accessory for you.

Works as advertised. Stays put wherever you place it. Nice anchor point.
