Ok.... I have had this for a week and I have calibrated it 57 times and I still don’t have any confidence it’s accurate?During calibration it NEVER reads anything close to the foil value? Both metals. But I used it on a couple of car paints and it seem like it was fairly close with 1.5 to 3.0 clear coat depths.So... I’m not sure what I should do with it? I have the orange one and for $70 if it’s accurate it’s a good unit. When I cal it by the video and book... the values are no where near the known foil value so I may return it? After calibration when I measure the foils.... again no where near the foil thickness???

First I want to make clear that I have not used the gauge meter, so I can't say anything about technical feratures and accuracy etc.Why did I return it then? I opened the box and was a bit shocked by what seemed to me like dirt cheap plastic both at the case it comes with as well as in the housing itself. I found an alternative that seems to have applied higher quality materials for a similar price. As the components inside are probably similar again, I'd decide this way again...

The unit appears good, but while it would calibrate with Aluminum it would not calibrate with Steel so I returned the unit.Instructions are in Chinese english & difficult to follow... shame really...

Would not calibrate either steel or aluminum. Just reads zero no matter which thickness I was using. Very disappointed.

Unable to measure aluminium. Tested on numerous panels. Doesn't even recognise the aluminium calibration plate included.
