Glitter Mermaid Sticker Paper Doll (Dover Little Activity Books: Fantasy)

I have purchased many little Dover activity books, 12-15ish. This was by far my least favorite of them. I know they're small and meant to be done quickly but this was a disappointment. The stickers we're supposed to be resusable but ripped when coming off and I'm daughter lost interest within minutes. I wouldn't recommend this, but they have several other little activity books worth looking into, specifically the stained glass coloring book ones.

This is a tiny, index-card sized mini-book that is an excellent value because of how beautiful it really is! I would not recommend this for younger children who would not have the manual dexterity to handle detail. I gifted this to a tween, who absolutely adored it! I only wish there were many more from this wonderful artist!

Really cute and a good deal too. Great little reward item- for doing chores, for potty training, for school, or even as a stocking stuffer or easter basket type item. I would like to find more books like this.

I give it five stars, and I'll tell you why:Short answer: It is beautiful, imaginative, makes a great birthday card or favor, and it's cheaper!Long answer with anecdote:First of all, this is a LITTLE sticker book by Dover, about the size of a greeting card (and at a dollar-fifty quite a bit cheaper.) It has a heavy paper cover and two pages of different clothing and accessory stickers that go with the very pretty mermaid on the inside back cover. The clothing designs are terrific, and a great inspiration for fashionistas of all ages.Here is what this book is not going to do for you: It is not going to get you "green points" among all your culturally/enviro-aware friends. It will not help eliminate world hunger. It will not stop bullying in our school systems. Nor will it cook dinner, clean the house, or fix the plumbing.However, it is more imaginative and elegant than the tons of licensed Little Mermaid products on the market. The auburn mermaid on the inside back cover of this book is beautiful, and her colorfully-glittered clothes are well-designed and aesthetically pleasing. They are less obnoxiously skimpy than the standard issue mermaid bikini, if that matters to you.On the other hand, maybe it will help you get your house clean. The first time I saw this mini-book at Mystic Seaport I bought several because they were unusually nice for the price. Recently, my eight-year-old helped clean and organize a particularly messy area of the house. When she asked me if she could have a treat, I gave her this book.A few nights later when we were all feeling a little run-down, she crawled next to me around bed time and sat for about a half-hour or so, sticking the glitter stickers on the mermaid. It was brainless and very therapeutic.Every once in a while she showed me the mermaid with a different outfit on. Having read the only review on Amazon (one star) I asked her: "On a scale of one to ten, how many stars---" "Ten," she shot back before I finished the sentence, and then added "This would make a great party favor."Yes, it would. The price is right, the size is right, and I am ordering a few more of them from Amazon next time I place an order. We're going to cut out the mermaids and glue the dresses on them permanently (because the glitter does kind of mess up the sticky backs after you stick them on and off a few times...) and make them up into little ornaments.If you are after a small, low-stress favor-type of item it may help provide a few minutes of good old-fashioned fun. If you need a party favor for your next mermaid-themed party and don't mind if it isn't one of the official "licensed products" that everybody else has, and want to introduce your little girls to the joys of getting in touch with their inner-pretty (and teaching them how to find better quality at a lower price) then get this thing. It is priceless.We also loved the Glitter Snow Princess Sticker Paper Doll, by the same author, for the same reasons.

This was a very cute little book. And when I say little, I do mean little! It was not much larger than a greeting card. However, that was probably my fault because I didn't look at the dimensions of the book. The inside was very fun and cute and my 4 year old cousin loved it!

Buy these stickers for my sticker loving granddaughters and they are always welcome and enjoyed. Great stocking stuffers too!

These little sticker books are so cute. They are perfect for long plane rides. The stickers are durable enough to be used more than once, as long as you take care of them and save them on another page. The stickers are very small so younger preschoolers will have trouble with them or just need help.

the pictures are beautiful and the glitter gives the sparkle! love it!

Tiny... but then hardly costs anyting. Kept my 4 year old daughter amused for an hour or so. Reasonably good quality stickers.
