Worked well for keeping me warm (almost overheated on land, in the sun) on a recent trip to some caverns. I definitely felt very warm getting into the water, and once submerged I didn't notice anything about the water or the hood on my head: no annoying leaks, not too tight, no weird seams,...Size chart was accurate.

Relearning freediving and first time needing cold water hoods. I referenced how to size and it was recommended to get a size or two larger than table measurements listed on product page. (if sized for a L, get an XL)My ears fit comfortably in the hood, and the fit was comfortably snug, without feeling like it was trying to shrink my head.My head was kept comfortably warm here in the California Bay Area. I have gone out without the hood initially, but definitely prefer the hood. The option to have a hoodless wetsuit for me is my current comfort level for the activities I use it for.

as others have said, this thing smelled very chemical laden when removed from the bag.... but I left it outside for a week and it was fine after that.Good for snorkelling but not really good for cold water diving. THIN-Darron

I used a hot pick to create holes near my ears. This thing keeps your head really warm. I live in the Caribbean, so the water is not cold but if you spend 5hours in the water like me, the wind takes the warmth away. I do recommend this product.

Get perhaps 50 dives and then have to replace. Frays and loses its warmth. Have several though.

Ordered this because the price was so good. I've gotten about 10 dives on it and the seams in the back are already ripping out. It might stop once it stretches to a certain point, but not sure. Was a great first hood, but I won't buy another.

I almost returned this due to the overwhelming chemical smell when I opened the package. I didn't though because I needed it. I let them soak a good 2 days in my sink with dawn detergent, submerging them and giving them a good hand wash. Then let them air dry for another two days. The smell did go away. Would definitely like to see a longer neck or shoulder area so it will fit better into my wetsuit. As it is it comes to the collar which is fine except for that shot of cold water hitting my bare skin whenever I move my head. Also, the chemical smell should be addressed by the manufacturer. Maybe they should bathe it before selling it?

I bought the medium and it slips over my head (average sized female) nicely. The small was a struggle to get on. The hood keeps my head and ears warmer when swimming on my back in cold water and also when my head is above water in cooler air. It works well to wear goggles overtop of the hood.
