Great camcorder
Awesome camcorder so far did have an issue the first time using it outdoors for a while it wouldn't focus right but I think it was the major humidity I was in. I let it set our for a while the next day before firing it up and it worked great. Trying to get to doing more manual settings than relying on the full auto, but what's great about this camcorder is there is individual rings for focus zoom and iris and also a button to remove auto on each. As an example you can still have auto focus but manual iris control. Love this camcorder though...now to get it paid for!

Just a little too stripped down
I was hoping this camera would fit well into a production business that uses primarily the Sony PXW-Z150, since they are extremely similar products. But it just has too many limitations, and I had to return it and just break down and get another Z150 instead. The image quality is very good, and it is relatively easy to use. I was willing to overlook that it has a composite output instead of SDI, and use an HDMI-to-SDI converter. But I was pushed past my breaking point when I found out that it will not output a 30p signal via HDMI. The camera will record 30p, but it won't output it via HDMI. So it's useless in my production environment. So for live production use it is kind of a nonstarter. For those that shoot and edit later, it's fine. Though I would steer someone buying this camera in the direction of just spending a little more and getting something just a bit more fully featured.

Very pleased with my “new”work camera
Arrived within the week, plenty of bubble wrap which I appreciated and it had everything included. (minus a lense cap)Works and looks like brand new. Also reasonably priced.

The receipient could not have been happier and said it was a wonderful gift
gave this as a gift for Christmas. The receipient could not have been happier and said it was a wonderful gift. PS he is going into producing in college so needed this to do some films.

I did like the beefyness of the unit
I used this camera for about 4 or 5 hours and chose to return it. It's a hefty price to pay for something that doesn't do high frame rate in at least HD. I did like the beefyness of the unit. The 3 separate rings were great to dial in on aperture, zoom, and focus. Very unlike the smaller units like theNX-80. I chose to go with something that had more robust specs for slow motion and 4k capabilities.

Placing it on a tripod isn't bad. Found it awkward to hold up to my ...
To heavy and bulky. The eye piece is hard to look through so when you use the screen you need support it with left hand if holding it and the focus ring gets moved often if not paying attention. Placing it on a tripod isn't bad.Found it awkward to hold up to my eye even if I wanted too. Doesn't rest comfortably on shoulder. Too short. The wide angle is not that wide so make sure you have plenty of room to work with it. Trying to just video tape family in living room was tough. I tried to shoot my sons hockey game and that wasn't bad until they came in close. I couldn't back up enough. The HD quality is good. Shooting sports came out fine except for the wide angle view. It stayed in focus because I was using a tripod. I guess if you use this for documentaries it's a great camcorder. I really wanted it for sports. It downloads fairly quick on an iMac which was one of my concerns. Looks impressive and I'm sure there are lots of other good qualities as far a controls but I didn't even go that far because I didn't like other things from the beginning. Just didn't fit my needs.Oh well I Hope this helps
