Still have some splatter in my microwave, but not as much.
The closer the dish you are heating is to the top of this cover, the more likely you will still have some splatter. This does curb it significantly, though. Clean-up has been easy. It can be tricky to flatten, but is still manageable. (I don't use it as often as I'd imagined and still use a cheap paper plate when heating up anything in a bowl.)

The place to grip and hold is small to grab. I have to grab the whole thing to put over plates and to remove.

This is a great product! It's a lot nicer to use these covers because they sit over the food and prevent splattering from getting on the interior of the microwave oven. Highly recommend!
