Just go buy it really pleased ,l am marking a quilt with templates. Chalk does not fade too quickly.But you can brush off. Chalk will come down the pen when you press nib end.The first chalk is already inserted so you push quite hard nib end and down it will come.The refills can be inserted same way. Use an emery board to sharpen.

Bought this to assist with planning quilt lines. The varieties of colours are useful for different fabric colours BUT are bright and need care, otherwise you will have a job getting them out

I am on 3rd pack of these, I sew a lot!. I like the pencil format of these in the holder. I find it easier to use than traditional chalks

Very simple bit of kit but works so well, easy to change the chalk if you are using different colours of material. Just push the top of the holder and pull out the chalk and pop another in. Give a nice clear line around my templates for cutting
