This is a very good qaulity anchor at a very competitive price. The customer service is outstanding with this company.
This is the updated review of the product. I received the anchor on time, Upon inspection I found this 10 pound Manson anchor to be of very good quality and design. The workmanship is very good and should preform as advertised. I have not given it five stars because I haven't used it yet, But when I do I will update the review. However I have no doubts it will preform flawlessly. The prior anchor I received was one that I think was used, damaged and repaired badly. I think that someone ordered a new one and returned the one I received in its' original packing. It was restocked as new without being discovered. This is the update on the performance of the anchor: The anchor preformed perfectly when used in sand, rock, mud or mixed bottom types. I have anchored in inlets with 3 knot tide waters and in over 120 ft of water with 4 foot + seas in my 21ft boat and the anchor did not move. I also want to state that the design makes it easy to retrieve. You can't go wrong with this on your boat!

Works Like A Charm each and every time...
I have a Manson on my 29 ft offshore, it grips every time fast, and retrieves easily, when stuck, move forward and it backs out every time... I also have a Manson on my 22ft inshore, and it works like a charm...

Nice anchor, but...
I've only had the thing for a month now and used it only once. I've anchored perhaps a thousand times in my cruising life. I think I know a bit about the subject. I did some research before getting this 45# Manson to replace my 44# Bruce claw. It fits well on my bow roller. It sets well and holds as expected. I don't know how well it will do in weed. The only thing I don't like about it is the shank. It's a flat-plate and looks to me like it could bend under a modest side-load. It has a tendency to fall off the roller if it is retrieved initially upside-down. This was not unexpected and I can fix that by putting a bale over the end of the roller. No points taken off for that.

This is a great anchor. Our first one was with us for a decade sailing between Maine and the Keys and Bahamas. My only complaint is with the quality of galvanizing. The reason I replaced it was the amount of rust even with cleaning and spraying occasionally with instant Galvanized. I hope that this new one has higher quality in that department.

quick setting, strong holding
i have a fortress anchor which i love, and once i tried this anchor, it sets almost instantly in grass, sand, mud. The only thing I have noticed is the slight rust starting after two years, indicating the galvanizing may need to be addressed. other than that, a great anchor, fast setting and strong holding.
