Timer, cooks evenly, true to low temperature, lid securely filled at handles
I just got this plus the croc-put liners (ordered ones that were correct size). Everything came out great, love the timer, it heats up well. So, if you ever bought one that you put on low and nothing happens this one works.Plus, the timer and warm section is a bonus. But, as far as I know you cannot switch it from low temp to warm without manually doing so.I really suggest getting the liners for easy cleanup. If you're busy taking care of many others or want to spend les time cleaning for yourself, get the liners. The ones that are BPA friendly. Just make sure you get the correct size liner, and oval.UPDATE: I have been using a dutch oven for years cooking chuck roast, I am extremely picky. The crock-pot made it so perfectly tender. I cooked it on low for around 9 hours, added in some spices. This was a pretty big roast (Costco, dad got it). Anyway, best one I have made.... cannot wait for parental units to enjoy.I also love the way the lid is completely silled to the container, at least with my model. It attaches to the handles.

Works like a charm!
UPDATE: Feb. 17, 2015. I have used this Crock-Pot a dozen times since writing my review ... and it gets better and better! I've made casseroles, breakfast dishes, beans, roast, ribs, Mexican food dishes - all just great (including the chicken/rice recipe with the rice cooked in the Crock-Pot)! The stoneware liner is easy to clean and food is NOT sticking to the sides or bottom. Warmer feature is super and it does not appear to be too hot. I found that when a cooking time range is given, such as 6-8 hours, I should probably go with the low or middle part of the range. For someone who actually HATES to cook, I'm becoming a regular Betty Crocker, and even experimenting, because cooking is SO easy with this appliance. I'm SO glad I made this purchase! Now ... back to your regular programming with the original review ...----------------I have an old Crock-Pot and it still works, but is too small for a roast, etc. So I got this one for two reasons: 1) bigger, 2) can program the time and temperature setting. I've only used it twice and, at this point, I am extremely satisfied. Should things change, I most definitely will update. The programmable feature is really nice because you can set the cooking temperature on LOW or HIGH and set the cooking time in 30-minute increments all the way up to 20 hours. Some other "programmable" slow cookers have a few time/temp combination options but they are quite limited - this one gives you total control. Once the programmed cooking time is finished, the Crock-Pot automatically turns to "warm." The controls are touch (instead of turn dials) and very user-friendly. The user manual is small, but complete, and includes a couple recipes. My first dish: Breakfast Casserole (photo attached). Very tasty and the Crock-Pot worked perfectly. There was some extra browning around the edges so I probably need to adjust the cook time a bit ... and you'll have to do that with any slow cooker. Second dish: Hot Sausage Stew. Again, the appliance worked perfectly and the "warm" feature is great because the food finished cooking before I was ready to eat. Keep in mind: you may consider the "warm" temp to be hotter than you expect but that's because of government regulations, not the Crock-Pot.This Crock-Pot holds a LOT of food! I'm cooking for just me so I put some in the fridge and the rest in smaller containers in the freezer. And since I truly hate to cook, this is the best way to keep me out of the kitchen but still have good food to eat.The food I prepared didn't stick to the stoneware and it was super easy to clean. Just hot, soapy water and rinse. You can also put the stoneware and the glass lid in the dishwasher. I will probably never use the "carry" function but I did try the locked lid and the rubber seal is tight and should make it easy to take your dish to the potluck, etc. Just don't lock the lid while you're cooking!Bottom line: the ability to truly program the cooking time/temp ... and the "warm" function ... make this my top kitchen appliance (right along side my George Foreman grill). I'm actually looking for slow cooker recipes to try - and I can't believe I'm doing that! My old Crock-Pot is at least 15 years old and that's why I chose this brand. Because of the "computer" that allows the programming, I know the chances of it lasting that long are probably slim because the fancier you get, the more chances you have of something going wrong. But the price is right and, so far, I'm very happy with my purchase. Amazon shipping was fast and the slow cooker was packed in its original box with plenty of protection.

Works excellent!
I bought this CrockPot a good 3-4 wks ago and did not want to write a review until I used it a few times. I've used it 3 times, and I am still AMAZED how incredible this thing works. I love how easy it is to cook, to clean, how wonderful my food tastes, and most of all... what the price was!!! This crock was well worth what I paid for, and I have had NO sort of problem with anything. I have seen some say the bowl moves a little in the pot holder part.. which is true, but it does NOT drastically move all around the place, just BARELY. Which to me is honestly no problem, as long as the crock delivers what I expect.. which it completely DOES! It cooks great meals, is hassle free of clean up (I can put it in the dishwasher, wonderful!), has a timer (& auto changes to warm after timer goes off), and has a top that can lock so you can take it with you! Pure greatness in my opinion! Now when I bought this I was a first time crockpotter. I was worried I might over cook things, or that the "high" temp setting on this would be TOO high. It in fact is NOT. The only thing I would say is a bummer, but not a problem in my book, is that it takes forever to cool off after I've completely turned it off. That is sort of a given though, being it is glass. Let me tell you in advance, the "warm" setting on this Crock is a little bit too hot in my perspective.. so if you want to play it safe for a certain something, I would turn the crock off once done cooking, or as soon as you get home. Over all, I absolutely ADORE this Crock, and I am very pleased with my purchase. I hope to have this for years down the roadUpdate as of Feb 2019- 7 years later and this baby still works like a charm, and hasn't lost ANY of it's great features! Still making delicious meals!

Simplifies Cooking Process
This slow cooker has significantly simplified my cooking process, and the results are consistently superior compared to using the oven. I prepare a variety of dishes, including beef barley soup, chicken soup, roasts, and many others.Having this slow cooker has encouraged me to experiment with new recipes that I had never attempted before, enriching my culinary experience. Additionally, I find that food waste is minimized, as the slow cooker produces meals that typically leave minimal leftovers. The roast beef becomes so tender that it can be easily shredded with a fork. The slow cooker is incredibly user-friendly. You can set it to cook on low for 6 to 8 hours, depending on the recipe. Once the cooking time is complete, it automatically switches to a "warm" setting. The lid is designed to lock securely, making it easy to transport without spills.
