If it has multiple functions, that would be better! Otherwise, it can only serve as a chain piler which has a low need at home. But as a chain piler, it works great!

This tool is a must have for working on hanging light fixtures. No combination of wrenches or pliers will out perform it. I used the tool to hang some new fixtures and to modify fixtures that were already hanging. It’s easy to use and doesn’t mark or damage the chain. When closing the chain, you can make the gap line up perfectly. I wish I had known about these sooner.

I bought 2 sets of 2, (4 pair total), of these chain pliers. I work on a merchandising team for one of the big box stores and it's not uncommon to have shifts where we have to build and hang 10-15 chandeliers at a time. It's a pretty specialized tool that doesn't get everyday use but they're awesome to have when the need arises. I kept one pair and gifted my team members with the other 3 pairs so we don't have to run back and forth sharing the same pair anymore, not to mention the disaster averted when the one previous pair that we all shared was in the toolbag of the person that managed to call off of work that night, happy campers!!! Using channel locks, screwdrivers, etc, to open and close chain links scuffs up the finishes, busts knuckles and is time consuming. A set of these chain pliers eliminates all that effort, they're fast, efficient, easy to use and the links remain looking brand new.
