Wacom are beginning to live off their name
Having been through several generations of Intuos Pro over more than a decade of professional use, I'm finding this model disappointing for several reasons. There has been a decline in functionality, and an increase in anti-consumer business practices from Wacom, at a time when the competition is becoming increasingly viable. They have to address these problems to keep customers like myself in the future.Firstly, an as mentioned by many- the surface has been altered to generate more friction. The result is more rapidly degrading nibs. Where previously I'd go through a couple every year, these were lasting weeks.I'd give Wacom the benefit of the doubt and assume a misstep as they simply wanted to offer a more papery feel to the experience, but the evidence doesn't reflect that. The tip of nibs are identical to all their previous pen nibs. However, the other end of the nibs- the end you push into the pen, have been altered for this generation. Older nibs are incompatible as a result. There is no discernible practical benefit to this change, other than to prevent customers from using nibs from previous pens. Most like myself will have plenty- because it was never an issue until Wacom designed it to be one.Wacom of course sell replacement nibs (which presumably they didn't sell enough of), and they also sell replacement surfaces for £29.99- including the original surface which doesn't wear nibs down by design. Do they really need to do this? The product is not a cheap and cheerful toy with no profit margin. It's a £300+ professional device. The next issue is bluetooth connectivity. In the previous generation, Wacom provided a usb dongle which plugged into your computer, providing a stable bluetooth connection between the tablet and computer, for wireless use.In this generation there is no such dongle. As a result, the signal isn't strong enough and lag ensues. Having tested the device on both a MacBook Pro and current gen iMac desktop- the issue is the same. As a result, wireless use is not an option. It's yet another downgrade from the previous generation, and a major design failure that has no solution. In terms of industrial design, this generation of Intuos is probably the most refined. It's a nice looking device, with an aluminium base and as a result feels more sturdy, weighty, and premium than any before it.But in practice, the experience is objectively worse than the previous generation. Wacom have designed a problem and are selling the solution. It has become style over substance, and there is only so long you can live of your name before the name begins to take a hit. Sort it out, Wacom.

Terrible nibs
Generally speaking its a good tablet, it works nicely though there are quite a few bugs with the touch controls and the buttons sometimes decide not to work. I would normally brush these off but after spending £500 it seems only fair to point them out. However my biggest complain is that the nibs are just awful, I've had it for less than a week and the first nib is completely unusable and I'm halfway through the second nib. I Must have used it for less than 5 hours so far. It does come with replacement nibs but at the current rate they will last me till the end of the month at tops. When I contacted Wacom they suggested I get the smooth texture to apply to my tablet, I wouldn't mind but they cost £40 each which in my opinion is really cheeky including I've just spend £500 on a new tables. Its a shame because other than that I've enjoyed using the product so far. Not sure if I'd recommend honestly.

Could be a great product but feels like I paid for a Ferrari ...
UPDATE: The more I use this tablet the more I hate it. Constantly having to restore my settings, never does what its supposed to do....waste of time energy and good moods.Could be a great product but feels like I paid for a Ferrari and get a bright red Fiester.Bluetooth is a joke. It can connect for about two mins. Once you stop using in for 30 seconds not connected and I have to do a full laptop restart or plug it back in.Loads of glitches with the pen pressure and touch. Sometime gestures work most times they don't.Pen pressures is excellent when its working properly.Really hope they sort the drivers out so I can get some real value out of the hardware. Wacom you should be embarrassed.

Issues and no responce from Wacom
Had this product for a week now and having constant issues, most of which seems to have sub sided now apart from one that i cannot fix no matter how hard i try, i've tried contacting wacom but they seem to only have telephones outside of europe and appear to take a long time getting back to emails they recieve to their customer service, the issue i have is all over forums online but still wacom respond to those posts by saying that it's not a common issue, and must be an issue with customers computers. The Pen will randomly every 10 strokes or so do a full pressure stroke causing you to stop what you're doing mid project go back a few steps untill you find the line and then carry on, unfortunately i cannot work like that. As others have said here i had the pro in the past and the product seemed to be made far more reliably, i assume that saving costs or something has interefered here and the quality has dropped sharply. If i can't stop the issue within the next couple of days i will have to return the product, if i manage to find a solutions that works (unlike the many i've tried already online) then i will gladly change my review as otherwise i believe it to be an amazing product.

Amazing product but some problems
As an architect and a passionate graphic designer, I have to say that this product is amazing. The accuracy, sensitivity and customization is exactly what you would need for something like Photoshop. Plus the ability to sketch on paper and then import straight into psd of svg formats is something that makes your workflow so much easier. The only drawback to it the fact that the pen nibs wear off in HOURS. Yes, that is right! I have tried both the grey more rough and black more soft nibs and they wear out flat in the course of one sketch. This can seriously scratch the surface... I hope Wacom fixes this.
