Be warned... these are huge compared to normal coax jacks
Look at the photo carefully and you will see that the mounting diameter is huge compared to the actual 5mm barrel diameter. Not only that, but the mounting rim/flange is just barely larger than the threaded diameter so your hole better be very close to the exact size of the threaded O.D. Also, the insertion into these jacks (I bought the 2.1mm version) feels very iffy. It should just be a smooth insertion, but these take a lot of pressure and then finally gives. In thirty years I have never felt a coax dc jack feel like that. I think it's poor quality.Just stick with the smaller metal ones.

Well, the jacks are nice .....
Jacks are not bad, I didn't need the 3rd pin or the dust plug but both are a nice touch. The backing nut is easy to tighten even in very tight spaces. The plugs on the other hand are terrible. The metal is just too skimpy. Not only does it bend and deform very easy but the hole for center pin wire is way to small. I also had to be very careful with heat as you can melt the plastic insulation between the center pin and outer jacket quite easily. Given that these are fairly beefy 5525 connection size, the plug really needs to be much stronger. Next time I will be going with a better, and likely more expensive jack/plug set. I am only using these in cheap little projects but I'll gladly pay a bit more to ease my stress next time around.

Pretty good but ....
Good DC jacks but the fastening nuts were a bit loose on the jack threads and over tightening (and possibly breaking the jack threading) may be an issue when installed. Using plastic nuts with more complete threads would be much better - and possibly less expensive in their manufacturing.

Flimsy and cheap. Works though
Works well for my application (i was using it foe a computer) but man is it flimsy. You twist it the wrong way and the plug falls out of the holder. you hold the plug the wrong way and it dents. You can physically squeeze the housing and compress it by half with no effort

cheap, but OK for prototyping
My prior review was in error, I mixed these up with a higher quality product. These are fully functional, but of lower quality that would be found on most commercial products. I doubt they would last very long. Fine for temporary use for prototyping, which is all I will use them for.

I got what was advertised, a few had minor problems
I got exactly what was advertised, well packed and quickly. A few of them were so tight that the sleeve pulled off the back of the plug when I tried to unplug them, but by working it back and forth a few times I got those to work more smoothly

When you need 5.5x2.5 barrel plugs and jacks...
The most common "large" barrel jack/plus is the 5.5x2.1. However, sometimes you will encounter a device that has a larger internal pin than the 5.5x2.1, and that's the 5.5x2.5. In my case this device was an Atari 5200 vintage gaming console. The plugs and jacks are of reasonably quality, and I had no issues soldering them.

cheap but they work
These are plastic with plastic threads but they work and are priced well. The solder points inside are a bit small but usable.
