JEF World of Golf The Protector Golf Club Travel Support Protection

Bought this to protect my clubs, but the spring loaded detents don't really engage well. One was actually not even coming back out and looked somewhat loose in the hole, but I was able to put a metal rod in and push it back out. It seemed to hold the telescoping pole from collapsing, but when picking up my bag, it gave and the pole collapsed down not providing adequate support. Nothing was damaged in my bag thankfully (looks like my bag didn't get tossed around much as the new golf bag had no marks and it was pretty well padded to start with on the top). I thought maybe the TSA guy adjusted it and didn't put it back, but same thing happened on the flight home, it was collapsed when I got my bag, still no damage, but not sure I'm getting any protection from this. The spring loaded detents need to engage stronger, and its very likely I just have a defective unit as it arrived from Amazon with the detents not engaging.

I've had a number of similar products in the past as I do quite a bit of golf travel. Unfortunately, we don't see how our travel bags are treated when we're not looking, so this may be an unfair review. That said, when I opened my bag on the receiving end of the very first trip, the head was already off. The tip on the top had cracked, allowing it to slide off. This has happened to other similar products, but usually after years of wear and tear. This was the first trip. I've applied some glue and tape, and it may work to keep the product useful, but if it doesn't, this will NOT be the product I replace it with.

Since I don’t ride with the golf bag in the airplane, I can’t say what exactly this product did for protecting my clubs. However, I can say that after my recent travel my clubs arrived in tact and didn’t have any damage in my soft golf travel case.

I had a soft case travel bag and heard of this product from a friend that had some clubs damaged in the past and now uses this. I bought it and it has so far made 8 legs of travel and my clubs are still in good shape. The bag is a little beat up so I know that this item has been helpful.

Dose what it is supposed to do....which is protect the clubs. The best part of this is that the head can be detached from the stem which makes it easier to store when not needed.

I have traveled twice with the club protector. The pricing is great. I feel much more confident traveling with this protecting my clubs.

I used this for flying my golf clubs across the country. It did exactly as advertised. My clubs arrived intact with no damage. It was easy to set up in my travel bag.
