Sabbat War: Warhammer 40,000

Very little Gaunt but a lot of great stories
It was a pleasure to read tales of the Sabbat Crusade from authors other than Dan Abnett, the ghosts tales were as expected excellent but strangely the tales about chaos forces were probably my favourite

That dan abbnet is a sci fi god
Loved that it filled in gaps if you've read anarch you know what I'm on about plus the storys about the other regiments and the arch enemy fill out the background

A bit disappointing to be honest
I have found the shorter fiction from Black Library to be a bit hit-and-miss. This anthology, like others I have tried, has a couple of good stories (The Tomb of Vichres being the best of the bunch) and some decidedly average ones. Nothing really terrible, but I expected better. I also didn’t like Dan Abnett’s gushing intros for each story. Words like “inspiring” did not tally at all with what I was reading. If you are looking for good short fiction then try No Good Men from the Warhammer Crime series - miles better than this offering.
