They worked, but on the kids too...
I used these in the attic over my daughters room. I put all 4 in the same area (within a couple feet of each other by the opening of the attic where the squirrels enter). Maybe 4 was too much, because the scent not only kept the squirrels out but it was so strong that we can smell it in the room below as of I put them in that room. The smell has been there (and still very strong) for several weeks now. We have to air the room out every day. The product did it's job, but be prepared for the aftermath...

Ineffective for squirrels
Squirrels chewed the wire in the engine compartment so I placed one ball where the squirrels were active. One week later, I discovered several wires were exposed within inches of the repellent.

They were big mothballs with a little peppermint oil in them
Definitely not for indoor use. They smell like mothballs.

Did not work! Squirrel sat beside it and ate my seed. Waste of money.
I dislike that the squirrel was not informed he was supposed to be scared and leave.Squirrels in Alabama are fat and fearless.

Squirrel repellent
Wasn't sure if this would help because the squirrels around my area are like pros at attack on bird feeder once I hung it out haven't noticed them at that feeder

Jury's Still Out
These balls are very strongly scented. I had to cut a hole into the top floor ceiling closest to the roof in order to place a ball inside in a strategic place. It seems to have worked for a couple of weeks, and at first I could sense a faint odor from the ball but it has since dissipated and I heard another squirrel in there this afternoon. I think I'll go without the little mesh bag that comes in the package. I think it's too easy for the squirrel to carry away when it's inside that little mesh bag.

It did not work.
I placed a ball of repellent in the bag included, and hung it by flowers in a hanging basket. The next day a squirrel had no problem digging in the basket and making a mess right next to the repellent ball. I placed another ball in a pot of flowers, and the squirrel or chipmunk took the ball and set it on the bench next to the pot!

Easy cleanup
Easy to use and cleanup is simple. Could use a plunger.
