Have had several packs of these. They do the job but don't last very long. Probably why you have to buy several at a time.

It's a shame that these halogen bulbs are so wasteful. I remember when they were the future. Everyone was swapping out their old incandescent bulbs for these clean white halogens to give dingy spaces a new look. It was a trendy movement to put spot lights everywhere.Then we found that they were abysmally inefficient, and when the energy sector was privatized and prices started skyrocketting, the nuclear industry lobbied government to cancel renewables and yet never gave us our "free electricity" they promised, that halogens were no longer attractive.It's a real shame that these little bulbs are still so prevalent, and it's hard to find low-wattage alternatives in this tiny form factor. These claim to be eco-friendly, but a 7W saving over 40W isn't brilliant. The price wasn't too bad, certainly cheaper than the shops.Fitting them is nice and easy, although one popped probably because I got it greasy with my fingers. They get very very hot, and grease or water on the outside of the glass can make them go bang, I hear.

Cheap enough, but they only last 2-3 months (around 5 hours on per day).
