I purchased this product because I had a salad spinner (different brand) that broke last year after only a few months' use and I was longing for a salad spinner to simplify my weekly salad preparation ritual.My past salad spinner had a manual turning mechanism that was physically demanding and which made it difficult to store in my cupboard and refrigerator because it added a vertical height to the salad spinner of around 4 inches (which is a big deal in a fridge in my opinion).Therefore, my criteria when considering purchasing a new salad spinner were the following:- A push mechanism, rather than a manual turning mechanism- A locking feature on the push button to reduce vertical height- A more notable brand less inclined to break within a few months of useThis salad spinner met all of those criteria, so purchase it I did.I am satisfied with my purchase and recommend this product to others looking for a salad spinner! So far, it has continued to meet those criteria listed above. The following is one caveat to the product's features which I feel could be improved by OXO in future designs.The lock mechanism does not enter into the push button as far as it should and is too easily unlocked. For example, sometimes, the lock becomes unlocked and the push button springs to full height when I accidentally set the spinner down too hard on the counter or if I tap the lid to the spinner. In other words, the lock mechanism is a little touchy.This issue is slight and in my opinion, does not detract so much from the product that I am dissatisfied with it. But, it can be slightly annoying and shocking when the lock inadvertently allows the push button to spring upwards. I am almost wondering if this is just a manufacturing error with a small batch of these spinners, because usually OXO is on top of the functionality of their products, in my experience.I recommend this product!

I have no idea why I haven't bought this sooner. I eat salads all the time and always had to dry the greens with a paper towel. This spinner works wonders. Of course it's not going to get every spot of water off the greens (common sense, duh!) but this definitely helps minimize the wetness of the lettuce. The "brakes" does work. You have to press all the way down and hold for like 2 seconds. I use this spinner everyday.

My girlfriend eats salad for lunch almost every day. I got her this and one of those Rubbermaid lettuce containers and she loves them! Her salads are greatly improved with cleaner crisper greens that last longer than before. The spinner is easy (even fun) to spin and the stopping button is great. Easy to put together, take apart, and clean. Big enough to handle large batches of lettuce etc.

I love everything about this! My old salad spinner has a handle that has to be cranked to spin the bowl. Not horrible, but this one is so much easier and more effective. A simple few pushes of the button on top and off it goes! The size is perfect and it’s easy to clean too. It’s the kitchen tool everyone needs.

I grew a TON of basil this year and was looking for something to help me rinse and dry fast for a flash freeze. This does the trick! I love that the insert comes out to act as a strainer then you pop it in and give it a whirl. The break is a great touch. I am excited to use it on some lettuce.

This salad spinner is really nice, I love the locking feature and the button that stops the spinner early. the outside shell and basket is very thick and sturdy I like to rinse my veggies first in the spinner then drain them and dry them and the shell will hold water without cracking the sides like my last spinner did. Highly recommend!
