Seems to work as good as original. Time will tell.
Easy to install. Dimensions match OEM. Operation is no different than original starter when new (that I can tell). I have used some Caltric brake pads in the past, and have been also satisfied with them.

Great deal for the starter and it's still going strong
My Craftsman LT1000 had started to be more and more difficult to start. I decided to remove the old starter and have a look inside, when I found out the armature had become very worn out and had lots of slop internally. I ordered this part via Amazon and received in the regular two days via my prime membership.Installation was simple, take the top cover off by loosening halfway the three bolts on the back nearest the gas tank. Then you should remove the starter wire from the side of the starter, I recommend using a wirebrush while it's off to clean up the contact points on it. Then use the Torx driver or an appropriate socket to remove the two bolts in the starter.. and put your new starter in place and install the wire... voila. If your condition of a "sluggish" starting motor persist I would verify first that your battery is actually good, and two that the stupid electronic valve in the carburetor bowl hasn't leaked gasoline into your motor. I have seen several fill up with gasoline and cause the motors to not want to spin well.

Very impressed 4 now!
I finally got around to installing this starter today on my John Deere Sabre. It makes all the difference in the world! I recently had replaced the solenoid and the ignition switch but the starter would turn over very slow. I believe the starter had burnt out the old switches as it dragged! It spins the engine very fast now! Hopefully it will last me for quite a while now! I would definitely buy this again!!

Fits and functions great so far.
Seems to turn engine faster than some other starters. Seems to have a lot of torque.

Quality part! Not…
Installed in my mower and it started three or four times… then exploded. Will be returning and will NOT recommend. Horrible, horrible, HORRIBLE. Working on my mower AGAIN at 7 months pregnant is NOT my idea of a good time. I am pretty good about reviews, usually at least a 3 even if I did not like the item as much, but I would give this a ZERO if I could. Even negatives. Don’t buy.
