We haven't had our pinewood derby race yet, but we have added some of these weights to the car. The only problem I had was that these were exactly 3/8", so I had to drill a slightly bigger hole in order to get them inside the car. My biggest drill bit is 3/8", so I had to play around with tilting it, and holding it around the side to try to enlarge the hole. If the hole is too tight it was difficult to remove the weight cylinder. The cylinder was easy to cut to size using an exacto knife. I like that it is non-toxic. I had a little of the rod sticking out of the car and could use the blade adjacent to the car to trim the excess. Our car needed about 2.25 - 2.5 ounces added, so I liked that this came with 3 ounces instead of 1 or 2. I drilled 2 holes from the back of the car into its center, 1 hole from the left side to the right side a little in front of the rear wheel axle, and I drilled an extra hole from the bottom and didn't go all the way through the top of the car. I will add additional weight in this extra hole at check-in until we reach the maximum of 5 ounces.

The tungsten bars are powdery inside. The are hard to manipulate. They are too wide for Pinewood Derby cars. If you want to lose the pinewood derby buy this product. It is too difficult to manipulate the weights to get the desired balance in a pinewood derby car. Cost me time and money trying to use these. Product needs to be more putty like. You cut it and metal dust everywhere.

The weights were exactly what I expected. Two weights came a plastic baggy. They were easy to cut to size. They were slightly larger in circumference than others I had bought but just had readjust drilled holes.
