Love it. Much better than a regular pin cushion--no aim required. Makes it easy to pick up dropped pins too.
Love this pincushion. Okay, it is not a cushion, but a plastic plate/bowl sort of thing with a magnet inside. It grabs the pins really easily, and you don't have to worry about which end is up. Since the pins that come with it have balls on the ends it makes them easy to grab. The magnet tends to make the pins line up parallel to each other so that helps too. I bought this on a lark a decade or so ago, and really thought I wouldn't care all that much for it since I was used to a traditional pin cushion I could stab happily. I changed my mind. Mine got destroyed recently so I just bought replacement, and picked up another for my daughter. The pins that come with the Grabbit are long, balled and sharp. When I first bought one, I fell in love with the pins too, and couldn't find replacements. They do sell the pins separately now, too.Two more pluses to this contraption: you can turn it upside down and wave it close to the ground or your table to pick up dropped stray pins without needing to search. They get picked right up. I keep my small sewing awl on here as well, and it has become slightly magnetized. I put the tip against the ball end of the pins as I get to them while sewing on a machine. They slide right out sticking to the awl, ready to be dropped back onto the pin cushion.Word to the wise: don't drop the pincushion. The magnet inside mine broke in half when I did and it was never quite the same.

Love it!
I know, I know, it's a magnetized 'thing' for pins but it is pure awesomeness. First of all, it's far more substantial than I expected. The base is weighted so it will stay exactly where you put it.. The color is deep and rich and it comes with the colorful pins shown in the illustration. Before now I was trying to be 'sensible' by re-purposing a refrigerator magnet, which would've been brilliant if I sewed on my actual refrigerator. Since I don't and my sewing table isn't magnetized, it collected the pins but was always slip-sliding away.Sometimes the simplest things can bring the most joy. This was a joyful discovery for me.

Good product. It comes with 50 large head pins ...
This review is for the bright green magnetic pincushion. Good product. It comes with 50 large head pins and is very convenient to use. When you are unpinning you can just kind of throw it at the pincushion and it sticks. Another pincushion that we use the pins always seem to find a way of coming out and ending up on the floor. The magnets line the pins up (see attached pics) to make it easier to pick up when you need some and the bright color helps find it quickly too.I would buy another one if we ever need one.

Great Quality
I used the same magnetic pincushion since the 80s, that is until I knocked it off the table one too many times and broke it. I replaced it with two Grabbits, black and teal, so I could have one at my sewing machine and the other by my coverstitch. These are every bit as nice and heavy as my vintage one. Toss the pins to the Grabbit as you sew and they go right in, all lined up the same direction as they should. To prevent knocking them off my tables I bought two textured jar openers (from Amazon) to put underneath to keep them from sliding. Works great!

Convenient. Less pins lost to the floor while sewing.
I love the ability to quickly pitch the pin to the magnet as I'm removing them from the material as I'm sewing. I don't have to try and stick the pin an actual cushion, slowing me down on a project or hope they don't roll off the table because I'm too lazy to bother placing them in one while sewing. It's really convenient. If you are organized, you can place them in the same direction and minimize poking yourself while retrieving one. If you don't ever want to risk poking yourself from retrieving a pin from the pin "cushion", then maybe this isn't for you. But really, if you are sewing and never get poked, you're from another world. Would definitely buy again.

a great way to keep those pins from going astray
I love this thing. Why didn't I buy one years ago? Probably because I don't do a lot of sewing. But every time I do, keeping track of the pins is always a problem. And I live in fear of dropping them on the carpet and being unable to find them. This makes it so easy to grab pins when you need them and toss them back when you don't. The wide flat area is great because you don't even have to be really accurate when you drop the pins onto it. This definitely qualifies as one of those "gosh I wish I had thought of this idea years ago" items.

How did I ever get along without this gadget?! ❤️❤️
I absolutely love this magnetic pincushion. This is my third one. I have one for quilting pins, one for sewing pins, and one for safety pins. Now I need another for paper clips!! This is truly one of the best inventions ever. I’m not the most careful person when I remove pins when I’m working. Well this cushion (of hard plastic) takes care of all my concerns. We have 2 Bengal cats that go after anything they’re not supposed to have so I’m constantly concerned they will find a stray pin and get hurt on it.This Grabb’t takes care of that concern and makes my job and cleanup SUPER EASY!! All I have to do is pick it up and run it over the table (or wherever) and it “grabs” all the stray pins - just like magic!!!I love love love this accessory - and feel every person, seamstress, quilter, or not - needs at least one of these Grabb’ts. ❤️❤️

Handy pin storage that's easy to use
I love these pincushions. I have several, with different kinds of pins on each. You can just toss pins in their general direction and they will mostly adhere. And if they don't- invert the pincushions and run them over the strays!Unfortunately, they do not protect the pins from idiot cats, some of whom like to steal pins. (I have noticed, though, that idiot cats find glass-headed pins less enticing than all-metal ones.)

GOOD MAGNET SMALL SIZE
That just about says it all it would be better if slightly larger diameter but the magnet is strong enough to capture a pin thrown within 2 cm of the top. the plastic cover is no real use except to keep dust off.

Makes sewing much easier
I like that you can just sort of throw the pin near the pincushion and the magnet will grab it. You don't really need to be precise. Also great for sweeping up a load of pins on the table or floor. I didn't know I needed it til I got one.

Brilliant little gadget!
When I sew I always seem to end up finding pins on the floor but not anymore. I got one of these grabbit pin cushions as a gift but I ended up getting on for myself too! I would highly recommend them, they're better than expected. When finished with pins you can drop them or throw them at it and the strong magnetic force makes them stick. If you start un pinning and have a pile of pins on the table you can hold it upside down to collect them in seconds.I think they're fab.

Really works!
Really works well. I dropped a load of pins and just waived this over them and wow they all got picked up. I will be buying this again as a present.

Great quilting accessory
Great strong magnet, perfect for throwing pins out in a hurry when removing them with your hands full. Seller was excellent too as original item got lost in the post. Would strongly recommend this product for any quilter
