You don’t want it to over flow once you put the pan of food inside. So I say you would want to use about 2 cups of hot water

I think these are more of a stylish chafing dish as opposed to the rectangular one. I would imagine this would be a better option for a more formal event over a BBQ . Yes, only one can of fuel needed
