The plastic curved tube is not fit for purpose. The air vent is placed on the top so bits from the carpet or hard floor can be thrown straight out and potentially cause an accident if one was to end up flying into your eye. If you close the vent, the suction is so strong that it is extremely difficult to push/pull the head across the carpet. I work as a cleaner and have used the original product for many years. When I came back from my holiday the hose and fittings had been removed, we got this product as a replacement, (only the plastic bit arrived not the stainless steel curved section as shown) and now my job is proving harder. Put some swarf on the carpet and use your product, you’ll see what I’m talking about. No point in vacuuming if the bits are coming straight back out from the vent.
