Porting can be a mess
Unit arrived on time and in perfect order. I downloaded the manual from the Verizon site so had setup ready. However, porting was a circular firing squad between Century Link, my landline provider, and Verizon. As soon as I signed up with Verizon to port, my Verizon iphone could not dial in to my existing Century Link landline, which was to remain active for five more days until porting. I called Century Link, they blamed Verizon, I called Verizon, they blamed Century Link. Bottom line, no service with my iphone for five days while the carriers did nothing. Non-Verizon phones would work fine to call in but my phone would not. Upon port day, everything works fine. But that kind of junk is what drives us consumers crazy. I'm quite sure Century Link will be billing me for the five days I got no service.

Like New unit not quite functional but the home phone connect plan is a great option
I bought the "Like New" unit for my mom. Physical condition was great but almost continuous complaints from those talking to her (cutting in an out, etc). Didn't think you could have so many problems with such a simple device. In an event. Verizon was wonderful and patient and in the long run replaced the unit with a new one. Voila! Fairly consistent operation from then on. Highly recommend going this route to replace a land line, but like anything, may not work the first time.

Don't let the appearance of a well oiled company fool you.
Received the item. It did not work with my current home phone. Purchased 2 add'l phones to make sure the item sent by Mobile Karma aka Recellular too (2) did not work. The packaging/box had no return name on it but, it did have a phone number in its place. (Save your outer wrap kids !) I called the phone number 3 times before I got through. When finally reaching a person, I was put on hold then disconnected. I tried to call back 3 additional times ---and the calls were ignored (most likely they have phone caller ID eh'?)Finally, I called my Amazon and they took care of it with ease / like corporate pros. A few days later, a man called me saying he worked for Fortune 50 companies and took care of customer complaints (read : please remove your negative feedback.) After listening to him go on for 5 minutes I'd had enough. This (recellular too and Mobile Karma) company is a nuisance and will do nothing but waste your precious resources. Please Amazon, do your due diligence and make sure these schlok operators can't resurface under new names, they are bad for your reputation.

May want to think twice
Satisfied with reception and clarity, however package arrives without direction, impossible to deal over startup with Verizon over the internet and phone. Got tired , gave up went to Verizon Store they are not company stores but franchises ended up paying them $37.00 then mailing in additional 32,00 to Verizon. I would recommend purchasing it through the Verizon Store, cost of stress not worth purchasing through third party.

No manual found - got one on Verizon.
What's in the BoxHome Phone Connect device, AC adapter, battery cover, 1500 mAh battery pack, antenna, and instruction manual.Still need to set up.I'm connected, so far sounds good. Found manual online at Verizon. Didn't want the voicemail option so I called in and they removed it. Hardly was using my costly landline but wanted to keep a house phone. Now I'll be saving money also.https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/wireless-home-phone/

Not Current -- Buyer Beware
For one, this is not the current model of this device. Verizon makes a newer model. The one I purchased was "locked" due to nonpayment of the previous owner, so I was unable to use it until that person was found and made to pay the balance on their account for the device. Of course, that isn't possible, so I am just stuck and out the money for a device I cannot use, and had to pay Verizon $100 for what I needed. This is a potential issue with ANY secondhand cellular device, now that people are basically leasing phones from cell phone providers.

Works Perfectly
It is up and working perfectly. Better than I expected. I live in an area where not even my cell phone can get a good signal. I thank you and my family thanks you that now we can have a conversation without a dropped call. The people at Verizon were alittle confused but you have to mention the Verizon Wireless Home System. When I finally got a Rep who knew what I was talking about, I had service in no time and they added the monthly few to my cell phone bill. Great. Expect and activation fee. But worth it.

There must have been a problem with it. It worked only for 1 month and totally died. Now what do I do.
