Galangal Fresh 14 Oz

I ordered this product and got it within 2 days of doing so. Product arrived in damp paper, in good condition. ordered 2 packages and got nearly exactly 28 oz, very slightly over, which was good. No rooting bodies but the plant looks in good enough condition that I can start to grow my own and not spend astronomical prices, this stuff is like 5x the price of ginger! can't complain for the massive and healthy looking rhizomes though.

These seemed fresh but were very big which means they are also extremely hard. I currently have them soaking in cold water hoping they will soften enough to cut into chunks for freezing.

I was surprised on the size of the pieces. Very large and healthy.

Well worth buying for authentic taste and making your own chili paste. Also great for stir fry. Arrived fresh well packed.

Hard to find galangal in grocery, even specialty, tho it is a key component of any thai curry paste and ginger is no substitute. Glad to find from this vendor. I keep this in the freezer and just grate it when i need it. It will last for months.

So it comes ALMOST rotten. Like on the last day it’s usable. Make sure to take it immediately and freeze it. It took like a week to come, which is about the shelf life of galangal.
