Well made, accurate

I bought this to replace an old fat max that I had used for about 15 years . This is identical and hopefully will last as long just don’t throw bags of cement onto it on the van floor . This level feels good with easy to read vials . A professional piece of kit suitable for diy and daily professional use .

Working as a bricklayer, there are two tools most use. Marshalltown trowels and Stabila levels. This is the first time I've ventured away from a Stabila, and I'm more than happy with this level.I really like the handles built into this level, and will want them in any other levels I purchase. My old Stabila 96-2 didn't have them, (but there is a Stabila model that does).The bubbles in the level are certainly different visually, but I think I prefer them, and the accuracy is spot on.These levels are sold as being very strong and able to withstand abuse. From what I've seen and felt it should be as strong as a stabila, but testing their strength is not how you use a level.I don't like the way Stanley package the tool. It leaves a couple of holes in one of the end stops, and this is an entry point for crap into the level body. This also cause a slight problem when I pulled the packaging off and part of it broke off and was left rattling inside the level body. (If this happens, remove one of the handles to get the bits out, don't try to remove the end stop.)Of course the big plus over Stabila levels is the price. I certainly don't feel like I've got a significantly poorer product, but would suggest Stabilas are better, just not twice the price better.All in all, a very good level, at a very good price. (Plenty of level for the amateur).
