A great SV unit for the price
I wanted to hold off on my review until I had used it for a year. This SV unit has worked flawlessly so far. I have used it on everything from chicken breasts, steaks, pork shoulder, and pork loin roasts. Every food item came out perfect. All that's left to do is a quick sear on the grill for the tenderest steaks and chops. Several friends have purchased the same unit. I love how quiet it is, the amazing product support, and extended warranty also.

Sous vide cooker keeps accurate temp, is easy to set up, and very quiet.
I am new to sous vide cooking so the 5-star review simply means that there was nothing to report as faulty with the device. I can agree with reviews I read before ordering: the cooker is simple to set (no wireless interface, no accounts or passwords to monkey with), heats the water bath reasonably quickly, maintains the temperature for a long cooking time, and the water circulator is very quiet. I checked the bath temperature with the first use and found that it came to exactly the temperature I set. I've used the cooker and the container I ordered with it twice, to cook a chicken breast, and at a different time, a ribeye steak. Both came out cooked just right, at the desired temperatures. The steak astonished and delighted me - it was an on-sale special at my local supermarket which I sealed in a vacuum bag with seasonings and cooked 2.5 hr at 129F. With a quick sear on the stove afterward, the steak was a perfect medium rare. I look forward to trying other foods and prep times.

Perfect
We have only used it twice. It worked great and held the desired temperature perfectly even running for 24 hours. The beef ribs were so means tender. We will never cook them any other way.We did try hard boiled eggs and it cooked the yolks perfect, but the whites were fragile so won’t be able to make deviled eggs. This will be great for many many things, just not everything. This is not a fancy expensive unit, but a nice basic unit.

Extremely accurate!!! And can easily be calibrated!!!!
Let me start by saying I am a retired Quality Assurance and Laboratory Manager for pharmaceuticals and medical devices, and also taught equipment qualification and calibration in the university. This is my fourth Sous Vide machine from different manufacturers over the years. The Greater Goods Kitchen Sous Vide is far and away the best I have owned, and significantly less expensive than the A------a brand. The system is well built, VERY easy to use and attractive to boot - no more bland silver and black, this is a gorgeous teal blue :~) The system is powerful and gets up to temperature quickly, and runs nearly silently. I measured the water temperature throughout a 14 quart bath and it was dead on at every location, so the water circulation is well designed and powerful. As opposed to many others, this is the easiest system to use - the display is very large, bright and sits at a 45 degree angle, so in use you can see what you're doing without having to get on a stool to look down on the others that have a flat top. The controls are also very simple - just press the big single button to change from temperature to time, to stop and even to calibrate. Very easy to use and intuitive. For a retired lab rat and 'scientific cook' I found the calibration very easy to use and very important. I set the Sous Vide for 134 degrees in a bath that was filled with hot tap water at 124. It reached temperature in about 5 minutes and stabilized. I read the bath using a calibrated thermopen in several spots and found it was 131.2 degrees. Not bad for out of the box, but it was simple to press and hold the button to go into calibration mode and set it for -2.8 degrees (the correction factor as measured by the external thermometer). The heater immediately came on and raised the bath to 134 (as measured by the thermopen in several points). And then held it for the 4 hours cook of a frozen steak. A simple and elegant machine from Greater Goods. My only (minor) criticism is the alarm on the timer that goes off when the cooking time expires, then continues to beep (loudly) until you shut it off. For my use, the built in timer is irrelevant - sous vide cooking is measured in hours, not minutes, and there's no penalty for going overtime. I just leave the timer at 10 - 20 hours and stop it at the 3-4 hours depending on what I'm cooking. If I'm planning dinner for 6 PM, I just start it around 2ish. For some long term sous vide recipes (I'm looking at you, eye of round roast that becomes a fork tender roast overnight) that take 24 hours, again I'm not relying on the built in timer.I'm also glad they left out the bluetooth/WiFi/smoke signal controls. It takes longer to open the app than to just push the big button!!!! Don't need the buggy app or price bump for something that really adds no value - c'mon, once you put the bagged food in and hit start, you have nothing to do, monitor or change until you hit stop and take out the food. And then getting out the blowtorch to sear it off. (oh yeah, it's Ironman with a flamethrower to get that medium rare ribeye to the perfect char!!!).Simple to use, pretty to look at, nothing to hear and can be calibrated in a flash. My reviews are straight from the heart, based on my own testing and I paid full price for this unit and received no compensation from Greater Goods for this review.

Good while it lasted
I got my first sous vide as an impulse buy in the Aldi finds aisle. It worked fine. I didn't like that I had to hit a button over and over again that beeped to set the time and temperature. It died after about 3 years. I replaced it with this one. I loved how easy it is to set with the dial. After about a year the plastic guard around the impeller broke. I fastened it back on with some copper wire. It looked pretty janky but motored on. Several months ago the impeller made a lot more noise than it did when new. It continued to work but it was obvious it was not going to go much longer. Today the impeller stopped spinning. I used this thing a lot (2 or more times per week) so 3 years doesn't seem like too bad of a lifespan. I just ordered an Inkbird that was on sale to replace it. It doesn't have a plastic guard around the impeller so it should at least not have that problem. I will miss the rotary dial. We shall see how long a different brand holds up. Reading several reviews I don't think any of them are going to last much more than 3 years if you use them as frequently as I do!

Good Customer Support
The unit is 2 degrees off. My Avona is 3/4 of a degree off. For the price, I will keep it and just adjust the temp on the probe to compensate.Greater Goods saw my review amd reached out and told me how to calibrate the machine. It works perfect now. Thank you Greater Goods

Amazing customer service
Customer service could not be better. My unit was flipping the circuit breakers regardless of whether it was on a GFCI outlet or not. They were so nice and apologetic and are sending me a brand new unit overnight. Doesn’t get better than that! I’m hoping the new unit lets me use it, but either way I will be loyal to Greater Goods for future purchases.

Great product and customer service
I had an issue with my sous vide only a few months after using it, thankfully this brand provides a five year warranty that they will fulfill even if you buy through Amazon. It's always worked great - fast, silent, and no gimmicks like an app or anything else. You simply set the time and temperature and then you're done.
