Q: Are there finishing clips available for this trim,to cover the cut ends where they butt together?

Don’t know about finishing clips, I used this to edge a board for building jigsaw puzzles. It held the felt cover down perfectly and I used brass upholstery pins to help hold the trim on the edge. I butted the 2 ends of the trim together before pinning.

Q: Ive just built new pc desk 12mm mdf, edges are a bit rough still would this work? Also with it stay on or need tacking?

We used this for the bottom of some metal stools so they would not scratch the kitchen floor if anyone dragged them. There was no need for tacking (obvs.) Personally I'd say if you are not worried about how the desk looks then this could be worth trying although I imagine glue rather than tacks would be better. It would create a ridge on the joining surface. I think you might be best looking for a finishing strip you could glue to the rough edge.

Q: Need this to fit 12mm ply that has 2mm vinyl on top, so 14mm total. Will this open enough to fit this?

Fits 10mm ok but you will need something bigger for 14mm, hope this helps.
