Beautiful and clean sound
Upgraded from a cheap DAC and combined with Auioquest Tower and optic cable from TV creates a clean and noise free sound. Recommended.

USB3 issues
This worked well on my desktop computer but my Dell XPS laptop only has USB3 ports and these refused to work with this DAC converter. The received wisdom is USB ports are all backwards compatible but the only way I could get this to be recognised by the computer was via a USB hub. That together with it resetting the volume to 100% every time it was connected meant that sadly I had to return it

Packs a punch, great addition to my system setup, awesome sound.
I recently got this audio convertor, setting this unit up was straight forward, and I have to say this unit is a game-changer for my audio setup! It's not the greatest looking device but don't be deceived by looks as it packs a punch, its a solid little unit with solid connections and tactile switches.Sound Quality is The standout feature of this DAC is its high-performance chip, driven by top-tier NE5532 and ES9028Q2M chips from Texas Instruments. The distortion is impressively low at under 0.0008%, and the signal-to-noise ratio of 116dB truly delivers a crystal-clear sound. I’ve noticed a significant improvement in audio clarity and depth. It decodes high-quality audio up to DSD256 and PCM768kHz/32bit, which has allowed me to experience music in a way I never thought possible. Each note feels vibrant, and the immersive live audio quality it offers is just phenomenal. The multi-functionality of the DC10 is a major win. With options to switch seamlessly between USB, OPT, and COA inputs, I can effortlessly connect it to my streaming devices, TV, PC, and amplifiers. The unique metal toggle switch for input selection makes it convenient while cutting down on the hassle of constant unplugging and replugging. Perfect for both casual listeners and audio professionals! The all-aluminum alloy shell is a mini size and is perfect for my space, and the output protection circuit provides peace of mind knowing my audio equipment is safe.Setting it up was a breeze—no need for complicated driver installations. It’s truly a plug-and-play device, which I appreciate since I’m not very tech-savvy.The package comes with everything you need: the DAC itself, a PC-USB-C cable, and a user manual, making it a complete and affordable solution for anyone looking to elevate their audio experience. For anyone serious about music, or even those just looking to enhance their audio setup without breaking the bank, this DAC is an outstanding choice. Its high-quality sound, impressive specs, and user-friendly design make it an excellent investment. I Highly recommend it.

Was This New?
NEOHIPO DC10 DAC First off, this item did not look like it was new stock, the box had clearly been opened before and it was in a dirty state. I was tempted to send it straight back to Amazon, however, I decided to try it out to see how it performed initially and over the next thirty days. My main use for the item is as an interface between my Windows 10 Pro 64 bit computer to my Marantz Hi-Fi stereo amplifier. Connection was simple using the cable provided, one end plugged into a USB socket, the other to the micro C socket on the DAC. Set the three position switch to USB, switch the power on, the blue LED illuminates and the DAC is ready. Note: - both power, and digital data, is supplied via the Type C USB cable, this means that when used with a mobile phone the phone is powering the DAC, hence reducing listening time, as the phone supplies two lots of power. An internal or separate power supply input would have alleviated this. I did not use the coaxial or optical inputs.Switch on the Hi-Fi amplifier and listen; there should be no hum or other noise. The DAC was silent. Next I played a good selection of audio via the DAC/Marantz combo - spoken word, Rock music and other high quality audio test pieces from the Internet, Utube and the like. My comparison was with my computer’s Creative Sound Blaster Audigy FX V2; difficult to say, but I think the NEOHIPO DC10 DAC resolved more detail and had a better sound stage. My speakers are elderly, but once a top of the range KEF speaker. I would caution against thinking you need to spend lots of money on a DAC; I’m of the opinion you don’t have to. Also, unless you need a DAC that can act as a pre amp you can limit your choice to just a DAC, as with the DC10. In some instances a DAC incorporating a volume control is desirable, but if you just want to connect to another RCA equipped amplifier then a volume control isn’t strictly necessary and theoretically the volume control circuitry is just added complication to a sound path that should be as short and uncomplicated as possible. I’m still not happy at being sold a product that is likely a used/returned product when what I ordered was a new product. I may yet return it for that reason, but over the next thirty days I will see how it performs, listen to it as much as I can, to make sure that sonically it meets my needs.Update: It’s mid January ‘25; I’m still using the NEOHIPO DC10 DAC and I’m satisfied with how it performs. I recommend this product.
