I'm very familiar with raw unrefined shea butter. I've used it for well over 35 years. This shea butter comes in a 4.2 oz jar and has a small spoon to scoop out the desired amount. The scoop helps to keep bacteria that may be on your skin from coming into contact with the unused product. Good idea. Although the packaging claims that this is raw unrefined shea butter, it also states that it's enriched with Vitamins A, E, and F so there is some processing and it's not the same as the handmade shea butter that can be purchased in African markets. That's a contradiction, but nonetheless the other ingredients are excellent for promoting healthy skin. Now that the weather is cooler, this product is solid but I wonder if it will start to slightly liquify/soften with the addition of Vitamin E once the weather warms up. Raw shea butter has a natural nutty smell that this product does not have. It applies smoothly to the skin and absorbs well but the skin does have a slightly oily feel after it's been rubbed in. That's just the nature of shea butter, and it's not a bad thing. It can be used on the body, face, and hair. I apply it to my skin after a shower and while my skin is still wet to lock in moisture. I do the same on my hair to seal in moisture, help minimize breakage, and to smooth my hair when I don't want to add other products. From the date and expiration stamped on the packaging, this product has a three year shelf life. I think that $10 for the 4.2oz jar is within reason, but it is possible to buy unrefined shea butter by weight at a lower price. At least this is an option, and not at all a bad choice.

I received a used product. Besides that, the product has an odd smell to me, almost like when a lotion goes bad. It does not have any hint of an earthy raw Shea scent. Returned since it was obviously used 🤢

I bought this for my husband who says he loves it! He’s old and his feet and legs are just a mess! I’ve tried to get him to use lotions in the past and he smiles and tells me, yes he’s using it but never needs more. This time I think he really means it. It has no scent so that helps and he really likes the fact that he needs to warm it in his hand before he can put it on his poor feet. Who knew it took warming it in his hand to get him to use it?!?!
