Fantastic Game
I don't normally like survival games but this one is very different. The game lets you explore at your leisure, and does not spoon feed you to go here or there and just lets you get on with it, one of the games main events, you don't even need to turn up to!The fear of the deep ocean is rooted in most people so this has a sense of dread from the moment you enter the water, to the moment you get the upgrades to venture deeper! Which you know you must do to progress the story and narrative, which is superb. I really enjoyed this game and would recommend it to anyone.

Very good game
It's a very good adventure game, graphics are good, very smooth game experience, it's a shame that there's no possibility to play with some friends that would be awesome

Fabulous, unique experience in gaming
Your mother-ship crash-lands on a mostly ocean planet and you survive the explosion in your escape pod and wake up in your pod with a few supplies, and a helpful AI to help you survive - which at first is just food / water (and scientifically record all the alien sea-life / vegetation you come across - and the more you learn the more things you can construct)You start in "The Shallows" a fairly friendly area of sunlight through kelp forests and darting little fish...But as you go on and exoand your abilities to dive deeper (and even build submersibles and underwater bases etc) you find a DEEP ALIEN WORLD of slightly spooky mystery - if you get the willies not knowing whats beneath you in the murk, you'll definitely get a thrill out of exploring, and there's a LOT to discover and explore / secrets to discover etcIn the world of gaming it's a truly unique experience thsat I found compulsively fascinating (and made by a small team of fellas who obviously CARED about what they were making - not just some bland corporate product)Support little teams who create excellence and have a DEDICATION to the craft (remortgaging their homes to finish it) like this in gaming = send a message that you're bored of the same old 6 game types over and over from the Monster-corporations with all their loot-boxes and DLC micro-transactions bloodsucking behaviour.PLUS - like I said - it really is a fantastic unique 'immersive' (hoho!) experience, where you take YOUR time to explore the way YOU want to, with just enough info to lead you into a beautifully crafted planet of ancient mysteries - without patronizing hand-holding BS I LOVED IT.......GO FOR IT!! :D

Frickin' Brilliant! (GOTY)
Ignore people writing reviews saying the game doesn't save or that it crashes. These are incorrect; the game saves fine and I haven't had it crash once. It does freeze/stutter (at times) when I surface for air, but I've had no other performance issues following the very quick post-launch patch.Subnautica is brilliant, a beautiful, immersive, underwater survival sim that does away with the handholding of most modern games. I looked up a couple of YouTube starter videos to get a hang of crafting the basic tools and survival equipment and would highly recommend Jade Plays Games. The game does direct players through radio messages, so keep checking the Habitat Pod for new messages. This will probably be my Game of the Year for 2018. Subnautica can be relaxing, tense, surprising, unforgiving, wondrous and highly rewarding. It's a game like no other with diverse biomes, alien creatures, open ocean, deep sea caves, kelp forests, grassy plains, thermal vents and loads of discoveries.Once you get a grip of crafting food/water, your most important tool is the scanner. Learn to scan everything possible and the player quickly comes across new survival blueprints.I'm between 6-7 hours into the game and about to build my first base (or attempt at one). I still feel, however, as though I've only just scratched the surface of what it has to offer. I've also witnessed two in game events which will stick in my mind for days (maybe even weeks) to come. The story, despite being told indirectly without cutscenes, has quality voice acting and has genuinely held my interest. If you love quality/survival games and don't mind the lack of tutorials, I can't recommend Subnautica enough.

One of the best game experiences
This is one of the best experiences I have had with an indie title or just a game overall.I was completely emerged in this game for three weeks, exploring, building and learning the about the surrounding watery world.Like all indie games there are the bugs that come with the game, save file error and clipping through your underwater prawn suit, neve to be seen again... but you can completely past that with a refreshing experience that is Subnautica.
